Thomas M. Schubauer

Thomas M. Schubauer, 72, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away on January 6, 2022. He was born on July 5, 1949, to Frank and Betty Schubauer in Buffalo, NY. Thomas honorably served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He moved to Punta Gorda in January of 1989. Thomas was a carpenter by trade and appreciated the time he was able to volunteer for the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition and the Charlotte County Prison Ministry.

Thomas will be deeply missed by his daughters Melissa (Joshua) Pettit, Heather Schubauer, and Michelle (Colby) Gatz; sons Matthew (Lisa) Schubauer and David (Joelle) Schubauer; brothers Frank (Carol) Schubauer and Don (Charles Fritz) Schubauer; sister Sue (Terry) Courtney; and his grandchildren Jacob, Avry, Zachary, Addison, Mason, McKenzie, and Charlotte. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Betty Schubauer, and brother Ken Schubauer.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Thomas’s name to the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition.
