Orville L. Hockensmith

Orville Hockensmith, 91, of Punta Gorda, FL, passed away on February 2, 2022. He was born on February 12, 1930, to Velma Hockensmith in Warwick, OH. Orville honorably served in the United States Army. Following his service he worked for Packaging Corp of America in Rittman, OH as a Printing Pressman from 1955 to 1989. Upon his retirement, he moved to Punta Gorda from Wadsworth, OH in 1990. Orville enjoyed being a Ham Radio Operator WA8TVA, antiquing with his wife, Kathy, and was an avid golfer.

Orville will be deeply missed by his wife of 41 years, Kathy; daughters Cathy (Wayne) Warner-Russ of Port Charlotte, FL and Sue Blake of Akron, OH; son Bruce Hockensmith of Akron, OH; brother George (Debbie) Dantz of Akron, OH; grandchildren Tracie and Jason; and greatgrandchildren Tyler, Abram, Ava, Makayla, and Landon. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Daniel, brother Bob, and sister Norma.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in Orville’s name to the New Day 2020 Vision.
