Julia A. Steele

Julia A. Steele, 64, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away on January 13, 2022. She was born on September 10, 1957, to Eldon and Carol Townes and raised in Weare, NH. Julia moved to Arizona in 1988 with her husband Pete and lived there for 28 years before moving briefly to Nebo, NC, and finally to Punta Gorda, FL in 2019 to be near her parents.

Julia and Pete enjoyed traveling across the country in their RV attending auto races and spending time with their 7 grandchildren in AZ, NH, and RI. She loved carriage driving and competing with her mini horses. She also loved fishing. Julia was an animal lover that fostered countless dogs over the years, as well as owning her own dogs, cats, horses, and other animals at their mini-farms in AZ and NC.

Julia will be deeply missed by her husband of 33 years, Pete Steele; mother Carol Townes; daughter Lisa Steele; sons Eric Purington and Anthony Steele; sister Susan Hutchison; brother Richard Townes and 7 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Eldon Townes.
