Joyce K. Emily

Joyce K. Emily, 88, of Punta Gorda, FL, formerly of Crandall, IN passed peacefully on August 2, 2022. She was born on August 14, 1933, to Ralph & LaVisa Sims Barry. Joyce married Norman Emily on November 5, 1952, and lived in New Mexico until his discharge from the military. Returning to Indiana, they built their home on a farm in Crandall and raised five children. She was a very devoted wife & loving Mother who will be deeply missed. Joyce enjoyed traveling with her husband, eventually finding their way to Punta Gorda where they resided for many years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Punta Gorda & the Corydon United Methodist Church in Indiana where she sang in the choir.

Joyce is survived by her children: Debbie (Jim) Emerson of Fort Worth, TX; Kathy (Gus) Fasbinder of Punta Gorda, FL; Dwight (Cathy) Emily of Ramer, TN; Jeff (Lu) Emily of Crandall, IN; and Lisa Emily (Fiancé Terry Brown) of New Albany, IN; and a sister-in-law, Kathleen Campbell of New Albany; 9 grandchildren & 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, one sister, and a granddaughter.

A gathering will be held from 10:30 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Johnson-Taylor Funeral and Cremation in Punta Gorda. Inurnment will be at Bethlehem Cemetery in Crandall, IN.
