David R. Cross

On February 16, 2022, Dave’s spirit left Maple Leaf to join his first wife, Marylou (Nix) in Paradise. He will be there with his father and mother, Tom and Leola Cross, his sister Betty Rolapp, and his dog Buddy who beat him there. Left behind are his loving wife, Kit, his son Paul, his daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and David Hershberger, his granddaughter and husband, Laura and Taylor Mann, his grandson Stephen Hershberger, and his sister Marcine Dickey.

David was born on September 5, 1936, in Canton Ohio. He honorably served in the United States Army, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. After his retirement, David became a member of the VFW in Pittsburgh. He became a seasonal resident of Port Charlotte Florida in 2009 and in 2020 became a full-time resident

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in Dave’s name to the Humane Society.
