Anna Place

Anna Place, 88, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away on September 11, 2022 after a courageous battle with Covid-19. Anna was born on March 26, 1934, to Frederick and Florence Olesfskie in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

In 1953 she met George Place while roller skating, they were married on September 10, 1955. Anna and George lived in West Paterson (Woodland Park) from 1955 to 1991. During her time in New Jersey, she was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed participating in bowling leagues with her husband George and sisters Lillian and Catherine Olesfskie. Vacation trips to the Jersey Shore were enjoyed regularly each year.

When Anna and George moved to Port Charlotte, Florida in 1991, Anna became immediately involved in the Port Charlotte Culture Center. At the Cultural Center, she volunteered in the gift shop as well as supplying the gift shop with many handmade crafts. Her personalized greeting cards were a favorite with the patrons of the Cultural Center. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially when her grandchildren came to visit.

Anna is predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Florence Olestskie and her sister Irene Burden. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, George; sisters Lillian Olesfskie and Catherine Olesfskie; daughter Debra Fitzpatrick and her husband Robert; four grandchildren Erin (Fitzpatrick) Lawson and her husband Jonathan, Robert Fitzpatrick and his wife Erika, Michael Fitzpatrick and his wife Jessica and Kaitlyn Fitzpatrick. She is also survived by a great granddaughter Ada Burke Fitzpatrick.

Services will be held at Laural Grove Cemetery in Totowa, New Jersey at a later date.
