Ailene E. "Mickie" Fuller Amnott Goddard Locke, 85, of North Fort Myers, FL passed away Friday, December 9, 2022. She was born in Charlotte, NC on December 22, 1936, to Clarence Fuller of Georgetown, MA and Lethia Fuller of Charlotte, NC. Ailene moved to Wenham, MA in 1952 and to Punta Gorda in 1981. She returned to Massachusetts in 2007 living in Georgetown, ultimately returning to Punta Gorda in 2018, where she spent the last 4 years with her family.

After years as a housewife, Ailene pursued a career as a Chef, completing the Culinary Foods course at the Charlotte County VoTech. She worked as a Chef for Marriot Hotel before becoming a cook in the cafeteria at Sallie Jones Elementary in Punta Gorda, FL. She retired in 1992, but never lost her love of people and cooking.

Ailene was known to family and friends as “Mickie.” Everyone who met her never forgot her name or her smile. She was a strong, hard-working woman who beat the odds many times, surviving non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, breast cancer, and a brain tumor in 2016. Ailene spent time with her children and grandchildren and loved taking them fishing, bowling, playing cards, and eating hot wings together. In 2007, she moved from Punta Gorda, FL to Georgetown, MA to marry her high school sweetheart, Charlie Locke. They spent a few good years in a band called, “The Over the Hill Gang.” She worked for the Council on Aging in Georgetown, MA and provided delicious meals and friendship to many. She attended Byfield Parish Church in Georgetown and Abundant Life Church in Punta Gorda.

Ailene will be deeply missed by her son Richard N. Amnott, Jr.; daughters Lea Dill and Carol Marlet Gauthier; stepson Marty Goddard; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; cousin Elizabeth Wilson of North Carolina; and nieces Adele and Shirley of Virginia.

She was loved so dearly and the overwhelming loss will forever impact her family and those who knew and loved her the most.
