Walter H. Wendell, Jr.

Walter H. Wendell, Jr., 75, of Punta Gorda passed away July 3, 2007. He was born April 17, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to Walter Wendell, Sr., and Josephine (Kiah) Wendell. Walter retired from the financial service field and moved from Centerport, NY in 1987 to Punta Gorda. He was a member of the Elks Club and enjoyed sailing, cars, and doing crossword puzzles. Walter will be greatly missed by his daughters Karen (Joseph) Scordato of Westport, CT, Susan (Robert) Frederick of Rehoboth, DE, Linda (Curt) Croley of Stony Brook, NY and Wendy (Gregory) Olson of Downingtown, PA; sister Joyce (Stanley) Hughes of Redford Township, MI and six grandchildren. A celebration of Walter’s life will be Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at 3:00 pm at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services Punta Gorda Chapel with Rev. Larry Pope officiating. Burial will be at Michigan Memorial Park in Flat Rock, MI. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 992 Tamiami Trail, Unit C-2, Port Charlotte, FL 33953.
