Walter Borysenko

Walter Borysenko, 76, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away peacefully on April 29th, 2021 in his home, after fighting a long illness, with his loving wife by his side.

He was born on November 18, 1944 to Rev. Mykhailo and Olena Borysenko in Waldenburg, Germany. Walter and his family moved to the United States in 1954 and initially resided in Philadelphia, PA. Walter honorably served in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1968 and was a Vietnam War veteran.

He moved to Port Charlotte, FL in the 1980s. Walter spent many years as a developer in Charlotte County and started a successful business in Ukraine. He was a prolific entrepreneur, who never strayed from dedicating himself fully to his pursuits. He lived life with verve and passion and possessed a magnetism that captured the hearts of all who knew him. His humor and wit will be sorely missed by many.

Walter is survived by his beloved wife Ruslana of Punta Gorda; children Tammy (Ron) of Port Charlotte and Tony (Ginny) of Punta Gorda, whom he shared with his former spouse Angela; step daughter Karolina (Nick) of San Francisco; and grandchildren Katie and Mason.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents Rev. Mykhailo and Olena, and sister Katherine.
