Thomas W. Young, Jr.

Thomas "T" William Young, Jr., 91 of Port Charlotte passed away May 2, 2008. He was the oldest of 4 children born to Thomas Young Sr., and Sylvia (Butler) Young in Monongahela on August 7, 1916. As a child, he lived in Monongahela, McKeesport and Dravosburg, PA. Graduated from McKeesport High School and Mount Union College in Alliance, OH. T worked in management for National Tube Division of United States Steel Corp at National Works and Christy Park Works in McKeesport, Gary Works in Gary, IN, Elwood City Works in Elwood City, PA, and United States Steel Corp Building in Pittsburgh, PA. He was Assistant General Superintendent in Gary and General Superintendent at Elwood City. After retirement in 1981 he worked as a volunteer management consultant, traveling to Mexico, India and other countries. T will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his children, Thomas W. Young, III and his wife Magdalena of Port Charlotte, FL, Dr. David B. Young and his wife Susan of Ridgeland MS and Basalt CO. Grandchildren Dr. Brian D Young of Seattle, WA, Matthew T. Young of Memphis TN, Sara Elizabeth Razi of Washington, DC, Thomas W. Young, IV of Port Charlotte, FL, Alexandra R. Young of Tampa, FL. Great grandchildren Yasmeen Susan Young of Memphis TN, Sterling Rene Young of Port Charlotte, FL, Luke Michael Razi of Washington, DC, and Thomas W. Young, V of Port Charlotte, FL. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Rosalee Davis of East Canton, OH; brothers, Frank Elmer, of McKeesport, PA, James Allen of Baltimore, MD, and Dr. Richard Paul Young of McKeesport, PA. The family will receive friends 10:00 to 11:00 am Tuesday, May 6, 2008 with a celebration to follow at 11:00 am at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services.
