Thaddeus Francis Flis

Thaddeus "Ted" Francis Flis, Sr., 78, of Northbrook, IL passed away peacefully on November 11, 2008 in Cape Haze, FL. Born November 11, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to Ludwick and Mariana (Szostakowski) Flis. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. An avid golfer his entire life, Ted worked for Sears & Roebuck as an Executive Systems Programer for over 35 years. He was a member of St. Norberts Catholic Church, Northbrook, IL and St. Francis of Assisi Church, Grove City, FL. He will be greatly missed by his daughters, Karen (Jeff) Greenfield, Janet (Andrew) Lundholm, Andrea Shumate and Allyson (Robert) Mechigian; sons, Ted (Laura) Flis, Jr., and Tom Flis; beloved companion, Gloria Rees Hansen; brother, Richard Flis; sister, Henrietta Mazich and 15 loving grandchildren. Ted was preceded in death by his sister, Anne Marie Sorich. The family will receive friends 3:00 to 8:00 pm, Sunday, November 16, 2008 at Kelley & Spalding Funeral Home, Highland Park, IL. A service will be held on at 10:00 am, Monday, November 17, 2008 at St. Norberts in Northbrook, IL. Memorial donations may be made to Catholic Charities, 777 Central Avenue, Highland Park, IL 60035.
