Steve L. Stufer

Stephen L. "Steve" Stufer, 56, of Port Charlotte, Florida, died on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at his home. Steve was born on October 30, 1960, in Springfield, Illinois, son of the late Thomas J. Stufer and Carole K. Stufer. He was raised in Springfield and moved to Florida in 1989. Steve owned and operated his own lawn maintenance service in the Port Charlotte area for many years until his passing. Steve enjoyed tinkering in his garage, spending time with his family and his dog. Steve is lovingly survived by his life partner, Michelle Goad; their two daughters, Tayler and Tanya of Port Charlotte, Florida; sons, John and Joe of Springfield, Illinois; mother, Carole Stufer of Auburn, Illinois; brother, Thomas J. (Shawn) Stufer, Jr., of Springfield, Illinois; sister, Elizabeth A. (Michael) Heren of Auburn, Illinois; aunt, Marilyn Beebe of Cape Coral, Florida; cousin, Bill (Deb) Beebe of Cape Coral, Florida; along with several beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate Steve's life will be held at 5:30 p.m., Friday, December 30, 2016 at Port Charlotte Women's Club, 20271 Tappan Zee Drive, Port Charlotte, Florida 33952.
