Ruth E. Macnider

Ruth E. MacNider, 87, of Punta Gorda, FL formerly of Dubuque, IA passed away August 15, 2015. She was born in Detroit, MI to William and Bertha Bailey. Ruth graduated from Denby High School in 1945 and married William MacNider on July 9, 1949. She was a member of the Sunshine Circle at Finley Hospital, board member Mt. Pleasant Home, and the P.E.O. all in Dubuque. Ruth was a member of First United Methodist Church, Punta Gorda. She was a gourmet cook and loved to play bridge, euchre and travel. Ruth will be greatly missed by her husband of 66 years, Bill; children, Mark (Kristi), Leanne (Jim), Laurie, Cindy (Karen) and Matthew (Paula); 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren (4 girls and 14 boys); brother, Jim and sister, Evelyn. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Friday, August 21, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, Punta Gorda.
