Ruby Alice Berry

Ruby Alice Simpson Berry, 87, of Punta Gorda passed away March 18, 2010. She was the daughter William and Hattie (nee Burton) Simpson, born October 4, 1922 in Eldorado, Illinois. Ruby worked at Larkin Children’s Home, Elgin, Illinois for several years and was a very talented seamstress. She was a member of Larkin Avenue Baptist Church. Ruby will be greatly missed by her sons, Kenneth of Nokomis, Allen (Beverly) of Hickory, NC and Ivan (Jeanne) of Punta Gorda; grandchildren, Robert and Sonya Berry; Victoria (Mark) Dispoto, Jennifer (Antony) Berry-Chan and Jason Berry; six great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth W. Berry, parents and a sister, MaryLou McGuire. A graveside service will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Indian Springs Cemetery, Punta Gorda with Rev. Jim Stultz officiating.
