Roy E. Zimmerman, Jr.

Roy E. Zimmerman, Jr., 89, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away Friday, September 5, 2014. He was the son of Beulah and Roy Zimmerman, Sr., born on May 2, 1925 in Bloomsburg, PA. Roy served in the US Army during WWII. He has been a resident of Punta Gorda since 1961 and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Roy enjoyed going camping and fishing. He also loved watching football including Pop Warner and the Charlotte High Tarpons. Roy loved doing activities with his family, especially having get-togethers with them. Roy will be greatly missed by his wife, Fran; sons, Alan (Trista) and Michael (Kathy); daughters, Cherylann (Carl) and Teri (Tom); 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Roy III. A gathering of family and friends will be held 5 to 7pm, Friday, September 12, 2014 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. A memorial mass will be held at 11am, Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Family request memorials go to CHS Tarpon Scholarship Fund.
