Ronald Lee Leonard

Ronald "Ron" Leonard, 71, of Punta Gorda passed away May 1, 2009. He was born November 10, 1937 in Belle Glade, Florida to Bob and Nina (McClenny) Leonard. Ron held two degree's a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Business Adminstration at the University of Dayton. He was a retired mechanical engineer for GM for 40 years and moved from Dayton, Ohio to Punta Gorda 15 years ago. John was a member of Peace River Power Squadron and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Ron enjoyed boating and fishing. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 50 years, Nancy; mother, Nina Leonard-Lynn of Haven, FL; daughter, Cindy Leonard of Santa Clara, CA; sons, Ronald J. Leonard of Royal Oak, MI, Bill (Adora) Leonard of Dayton, OH and Michael (Julie) Leonard of Brighton, MI; sister, Jan Leonard of CA and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Early Ray Leonard and sister Debbie King. A mass will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda.
