Ronald Lee Edwards, Sr.

Ronald Lee "Ron" Edwards, Sr., 79, of Port Charlotte, FL, formerly of Washington, DC passed away Friday, October 2, 2015. He was the son of Thomas and Mabel Edwards, born February 25, 1936 in Washington, DC. Ron was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Ron loved to watch old gangster movies, listen to music as he built his model trucks and cars. Ron was so proud of the achievements of all the children and grandchildren. Ron will be greatly missed by his wife, Etta; sister, Ruth Dowling; brother, Robert Edwards; daughters, Deborah (Kirkwood) Thompson and Christine Edwards; step-daughter, Karen (Ed) Martinez; grandchildren, Angela Oats, Bradley Mount, Alicea Tallman, Brian, Jason and Richard Miank; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and his beloved dog, Cutter. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ronald Lee Edwards, Jr.; brother, Ray, Ralph and Randy Edwards. A private service will be held.
