Rodney Black

Rodney Black, 89, of Port Charlotte passed away March 27, 2010. He was the son of Alice (Swayne) and Wilbert Black, Jr., born October 2, 1920 in New Orleans, LA. Rodney served in the US Army during WWII and worked for G.E. and Kaiser Engineers as a Electrical Engineer before retiring. He was a member of I.E.E.E., Phi Beta Phi Tulane University 1941 and came to this area from Chicago, Illinois in1984. Rodney enjoyed golf and fishing and was of the Baptist faith. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 57 years, Barbara, daughter, Susan J. Smith of Raleigh, NC; brother, Wilbert (Mary) Black III of New Orleans, LA; grandchildren, Jennifer, Scott and Melinda; Wilbert (Mary) Black III of New Orleans, LA.
