Rita Jeanne Faulk Bernard Berard

Rita Jeanne Faulk Bernard Berard, 96, of Punta Gorda, FL formerly of San Dimas, CA, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015. She was the daughter of William and Ida Faulk, born May 6, 1919 in St. Martinville, LA. Rita received her teaching certificate from Grambling College in Ruston, LA and earned her Master's Degree at Pepperdine University, Los Angeles, CA. She spent her first 28 years teaching in St. Martin and Iberville Parishes and the next 20 years in the Fontana School District in California where she retired after 48 years of teaching. Rita was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rita will be greatly missed by her daughter, Inez "Rennie" Howard; sister, Claire (David) Dunbar; grandchildren, Sanford, Kieu-Van, Mauria and Kenneth; great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Joseph, Jalen, Jousha and Jordan and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Henry, Herman, Mazel, Anna Mae, Samuel, Marion, Theresa and husbands, George Cornelius Bernard and Joseph Alton Berard.
