Richard Meyer

Richard "Rick" Meyer, 67, of Port Charlotte passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009. He was son of the late Charles and Kathryn (Ott) Meyer, born October 10, 1941 in Wellsburg, WV. Rick served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked as the chief estimator for Don Riggs concrete and retired after 37 years and was the owner/league operator of American Pool Players Association for Charlotte County. Rick was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #2121. He was an avid lover of classic cars and will be remembered as a gentle and loving husband, father and grandfather. Rick will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 14 years, Vikki (Brower); daughter, Michelle (Eddie) Hardman Doughty; grandchildren, Justin and Alora all of Port Charlotte and his faithful canine companion "Chewy". He is survived by his son, Christopher (Sonia) of Westbend, WI; grandchildren, Mela, Misha and Nadia; brothers, Donald (Nancy) of Woodbridge, VA, William (Kay) of Folsom, CA and Clarence (Melly) of McCormick, SC; sisters, Margaret (Rod) Patterson of Canton, GA, Patrice (Jeff) Wehner of Minnitonka, MN and Rebecca Clark of Raleigh, NC; several nieces and nephews. A service in celebration of Rick's life will be at 6:00pm, Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services.
