Richard D. Hysell

Richard D. Hysell, 80, of Punta Gorda passed away August 29, 2009. He was the son of John and Audrey (Lamb) Hysell, born August 12, 1929 in Pierson, MI. Richard worked at Continental Motors in Grand Rapids, MI for 19 years; he moved to Florida in 1969 and established Hysell's Roofing Co. in 1972. He was a hard worker, but also enjoyed cooking. Richard will be greatly missed by his wife of 29 years, Martha; daughters, Sharon Stapp of Greenville, MI, Janice Benedict of Cedar Springs, MI, and Brenda Brunderman of Punta Gorda; sons, Richard John Hysell and Darrrin Hysell, both of Punta Gorda; step-daughter, Merryann Davis of North Port; step-sons, John Hysell, Rex Hysell, Matthew Stone, and Martin Stone, all of Punta Gorda; 23 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and step-son, Jake (Kline) Cogswell. A memorial service in celebration of Richard's life will be held Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 4:30 pm at Tri-City Baptist Church with Pastor Jay Sheppard officiating.
