Reginald K. Ringel, 88, of Port Charlotte, Florida, died on Sunday, July 7, 2013. He was born July 5, 1925, in Shawano, Wisconsin, the son of Herman and Florence Ringel. Reginald served in the Navy during World War II, and graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University. For nearly 40 years he worked as a chemical and materials engineer for Caterpillar Tractor Company in Peoria and Decatur, Illinois. Among his many interests, he was an active member of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Singing in America. He married Constance Jane Powers on March 6, 1946. They retired to Florida in 1986, and she died on October 4, 1996. On February 14, 1998 he married Irene Eisenhard. Reginald will be greatly missed by his wife, Irene; daughter, Bonnie Mahr (Ray) of San Diego, California; sons, Michael (Linda) of Decatur, Illinois and son, Lance (Chuck) of Poughkeepsie, New York; step-daughters, Connie Hockman of Punta Gorda, Florida, and Adele Scheiry of Wescosville, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and sister, Shirley Van Rossum of Franklin, Wisconsin. He was predeceased by his son, Scott, and brother, Morris. A private graveside service will be held in Illinois at a later date.
