Priscilla T. Huntington

Priscilla (Patty) T. Huntington, 90, of Punta Gorda passed away peacefully in her home of over 40 years Thursday, August 8, 2013. She was the daughter of Edwin and Emma (Monteith) Towne, born on April 9, 1923 in Newport, VT. Priscilla graduated from Westbrook Jr. College, Portland, ME. In 1946 she married Perley (Pat) Huntington and worked for various companies including Mass Mutual and Liberty Mutual as an administrative assistant before retiring in 1982. Priscilla was a campaign manager for American Red Cross Membership Drive Charlotte County Chapter, Sunday School Teacher, Shrub Oak, New York, volunteered at New York Hospital Auxiliary, Peekskill, Girl Scout Leader in Ossining, New York, secretary for the New York Methodist Church Commission on Education and Charlotte County Athletic Boosters Club, Punta Gorda. She and her husband Pat were an integral part of "Save Our Brick Streets" in historical Punta Gorda in the 1980's. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening, playing cards, card writing and rug braiding. Priscilla will be greatly missed by her children, Stephen Huntington (Trevor Ngo) San Jose, Cal., Donna (Zane II) Betts, Mount Dora, FL, Cynthia (Robert) Bazemore, Raleigh, NC and Punta Gorda, FL Daniel (Kerstin) Huntington, Cape Coral, FL; grandchildren Jamie Bazemore (Tiffany Silsbee) Johanna (Kendall) Showfety, Paulina and Katrina Huntington; sister, Phyllis (Pet) Gladding and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Pat Huntington; parents and sisters, Shirley Olson, Edwina (Stubby) Sutphen, Beverly (Nonnie) Eldridge and Natalie (Billie) Blackmore. No service is planned at this time. Inurnment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Newport, VT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Punta Gorda Historical Society, Tidewell Hospice or any other hospice organization in your area.
