Norm B. Purdy

Norm Purdy of Charlotte Harbor passed away March 24, 2008. He was the son of John W. Harrell and Carmen (Romansk) Purdy, born December 28, 1945 in Tacoma Park, MD. Norm arrived in SW Florida in the late 1970's and made his mark as one of the most outstanding Realtor/Brokers and citizens in our community. He co-founded Century 21 Almar & Associates in 1985 and went on to become President of the Board of Realtors and formed his own well known and very successful real estate team, The Norm Purdy Team. Norm was also involved as a board member of the Port Charlotte Little League, coached the Major Little League Giants, and was president of the Port Charlotte Bandits. He majored in music at Maryland College of Art and Design and continued to play the music in his heart for many to enjoy throughout his life. His charm and exhilarating, larger than life personality will be remembered by many. He was a presence no matter where he went. Norm will be greatly missed by the love of his life, wife, Donna; children, Christopher Purdy of Charlotte Harbor, Justin (Sommer) Wilkie of Charlotte Harbor, Ashley Purdy of Gainesville, and Chad Purdy of Charlotte Harbor; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Purdy; and many more loving family and friends. The service in celebration of Norm's life will be at Noon on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Port Charlotte with Rev. Bill Klossner officiating.
