Mary A. Paul

Mary A. Paul, 68, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015. She was the daughter of Lawrence and Helen Ashcroft, born December 1, 1946 in Chicago, IL. Mary was the Secretary in Planning and Zoning Department at City Hall, Punta Gorda. She felt very blessed to have such a good life and thought it was important to give back in some way. Mary tutored underprivileged kids in Cabrini Green, in Chicago and taught reading at Port Charlotte Cultural Center. Mary enjoyed organizing things to the point of driving people crazy. She loved music, doing puzzles to relax and traveling with her husband. Mary was a member of the COPD Support group and served as a former Secretary/Treasurer for 10 years. Mary will be greatly missed by her husband of 35 years, Warren; brothers, Tom Ashcroft and Larry Ashcroft; 3 nephews and 2 nieces. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
