Marisue G. Bittner

On August 6, 2022, Marisue Glass Bittner died peacefully at home in Port Charlotte, Florida. She was 89 years old and left the world for a sweeter place in Heaven with her Lord.

Marisue is survived by her children, Kristel Glass Austin (Dennis), Sheree Glass Negus (Michael) William Richard Glass Jr. (Sue), and Shelli Glass McIntosh (Mark); Her grandchildren, Jeffrey Lalonde and Greg Lalonde, Elijah Austin, Kameron Austin, Delaney Austin, Talitha Austin Shirah, Haley McIntosh, Hannah McIntosh, Caleb Hollatz, Seth Negus, William Glass II, and Bradley Glass. Great Grandchildren Avalyn Hensley, Kennedy Austin, Landon Austin, and Beckett Shirah. She is also survived by her sister JeAnne Hebner of Bay City MI. Marisue was preceded in death by her husband John T. Bittner of Port Charlotte Fl and husband William R. Glass of Port Charlotte Fl, her sister JoAnne Deuscher, and their beautiful parents, Lowell and Marion Aspin of Bay City MI.

Marisue graduated from Handy High School in 1951, marrying her first love, William Glass. They were married for 50 years. Marisue started dancing at the age of 12 and instilled a love of dance in her four children. She taught ballet and tap most of her life at Craves Dance School in Bay City Michigan. She worked as a Librarian Assistant at Sage Library and Bay City Public Library until she and Bill moved to Florida in 1980. She was a librarian assistant at the Port Charlotte Library until she retired. After Bill died, Marisue married John T. Bittner, whom she fell in love with after spending time with him when he volunteered for Friends of the Library.

Marisue was a light for everyone, with a generous and compassionate spirit. She will be missed greatly by her dear friends and family.

A memorial service for Marisue Bittner is scheduled for the weekend of September 23, 2022, at the United Methodist Church in Port Charlotte Fl. In lieu of flowers, donations will be much appreciated to Tidewell Foundation.
