Marialaina K. Mccarter

Marialaina Kiley McCarter, known to all who knew and loved her as "Maria", passed away on March 6th, 2022. She was 56 years old.

Maria was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 4th, 1965. She was the youngest of 5 children born to Marianne Kiley McCarter and Frank Joseph McCarter. She grew up in Doylestown, Bucks County.

After graduating high school, Maria moved with her parents to Port Charlotte, FLA in 1988. She attended Community Resource Center (CRN), formerly known as STAR. She was a member of the Port Charlotte Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Maria is survived by her mother, Marianne, her siblings Kenneth (Kerry), Stephen McCarter, Tarin (Yale) Houghton, and Kandis (Michael) Murphy. She was affectionately known as "Aunt Ri" to her niece, Erin Rosenbaum and nephew, Kyle Houghton. She was predeceased by her father, Frank J. McCarter.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Droffner and Mrs. Jan Brady for their love and kindness. We would also like to thank the Staff at CRN for the wonderful work that they do with all the clients. We also want to thank Tidwell Hospice Services for treating our "Special Angel" with such care, dignity, and respect. We are grateful.
