Margaret Sue Bivens

Margaret “Sue” Bivens, 74, of Punta Gorda passed away October 30, 2007. She was born October 16, 1934 in Beckley, West Virginia to Franklin and Norma (Daniels) Humphrey. Sue graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Concord College in Athens, WV and a Master’s from University of Miami, FL. She worked as a Registered Physical Therapist for 51 years with the last ten in her own office in Port Charlotte. Sue was a member of First Baptist Church of Punta Gorda and was active in her Sunday School Class. She enjoyed growing orchids, sewing and of course bragging about her children and grandchildren. Sue will be greatly missed by her husband of 49 years, John of Punta Gorda; son, John F (Andrea) Bivens, DVM of Punta Gorda; daughter Laura Gebhart of Miami, FL; sister Barbara Dye O’Neal of Miami, FL; many nieces and nephews; grandchildren Jared Bivens of Punta Gorda, Mason Gebhart and Connor Gebhart both of Miami. She was preceded in death by a beloved granddaughter Julia Nicole Bivens. A celebration of Sue’s life will be at 11:00 a.m, Friday, November 2, 2007 at Punta Gorda Chapel of Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens after the service. Memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
