Rest in Peace Forever From Your Loving Wife and Family Marcel J. Simon, 89, of Punta Gorda passed away suddenly on May 22, 2014. He was born April 1, 1925 in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg. Marcel came to the United States when he was 11 years old. He served in the US Navy from 1941-1943 when he was honorably discharged. He also joined the Merchant Marines for 7 years, and became a US citizen. After the war, he opened his own painting and contracting business. His hobbies included motorcycling, sailing, and flying. Marcel will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Traudel Simon; daughter, Jeanette Miller; sons, Pete Simon and Mark Simon; grandchildren, Erika Miller, Arielle, Miller, Shane Simon, and Phillip Simon.
