Joseph Thomas Phelps

Joseph Thomas Phelps, 79, of Port Charlotte formerly of Polk County died Wednesday, September 15, 2010 after a short illness. He was the son of Joseph and Annie Phelps, born May 24, 1931 in North Carolina. Joseph was a fireman and then eventually retired from truck driving. He will be greatly missed by his daughters, Terina (Jeff) Rexrode of Port Charlotte, Rosa (Tommy) Pearson and Lynett Jessop both of Auburndale; and his son, Erick Jessop of Plant City. Joseph was “Papa” to 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alyce F. Phelps and daughter, Angela Phelps. A memorial service in celebration of Joseph’s life will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Winter Haven Baptist Church, 1500 Dundee Rd, Winter Haven, FL.
