Joseph Eugene Katinsky

Joseph "Joe" Katinsky, 71, of Port Charlotte formerly of Walled Lake, MI passed away Friday, April 23, 2010. He was the son of Joseph and Edith (Walker) Katinsky, born June 11, 1938 in Dunlevy, PA. Joe graduated from Charlroi High School in 1956 and served 32 years in the US Air Force as a pilot, he flew with the Thunder Birds and during the Vietnam War. He was a space planner in the switch engineering department with Michigan Bell Telephone "Ameritech" before retiring. He was a member of the Punta Gorda Elks and was a volunteer for many years at Charlotte Regional Medical. Joe will be greatly missed by his wife of 18 years, Jean; sons, Jeffery, Joseph (Judi) and Mark (Val); step-son, Jack Waldron; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Joan Beno and Mary Milkent. A memorial service in celebration of Joe's life will be at 11:00am, Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Church of the Good Shepherd with Rev. Scotto officiating.
