John W. White

John W. "Big John" White, 74, passed away at home in Seaford, DE on April 22, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by family. He was the son of Ralph S and Pearl (Clark) White, born September 27, 1934 in Louisville, KY. John worked for Flour Daniels Construction Co. John spent 6 months in North Port and 6 months in Seaford, and worked part-time at Publix Supermarkets after his retirement. John will be greatly missed by his son, John (Marie) White of Gaston, SC; daughters, Pamela (Richard) Adams of North Port; Cynthia (Mark) Bowman of Port Charlotte, and Jonna Marie (Kevin) English of Seaford, DE; brothers, Arther L. White of Louisville, KY, Joseph A.. White of Marietta, GA, Rev. Joseph Patrick Rhodes of Conyers, GA; sister, Alice Rhodes Mudd of Mt. Washington, KY; grandchildren, Andrew T. White, BreAnna Reeves, Jamie Canfield, Tyler Canfield, Jonathan Canfield, John Reeves, and Kelsy Jo Bowman; great-grandchildren, Dominick White and Will White; 3 nieces, 19 nephews, and countless other family and friends who loved and admired him. John was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Mary S. White; father, Ralph S. White, step-father, Joseph Rhodes; mother, Sarah Clark; and brother, Edwin Rhodes. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services.
