John Marion Miller

John Marion Miller, age 85, died suddenly on February 27, 2010 in Punta Gorda, Florida. He was born July 1, 1924 in Greenville, Ohio and resided in Dayton, Ohio until moving to Punta Gorda in 1996. John graduated from Fairview High School in 1942 and attended Miami University prior to serving with the Army Air Corps in the American Asiatic-Pacific Theater during World War II. In 1947 he joined The Joyce Cridland Co. in Dayton and retired after 47 years as their Vice-President of Marketing. He continued to serve on their Board of Directors until 2007. He served as President of the Equipment Tool Institute and President of the Automotive Lift Institute. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Montgomery County Building and Loan. He was a member of St. Andrews South Golf Club, Punta Gorda. John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lois Heisey Miller, of Punta Gorda, FL; daughters, Margaret M. (Gary) Stoner of Stow, OH; Terryl Miller of Lexington, KY; Jennifer M. (William) Howard of Fort Thomas, KY; son, Charles M. (Ann) Miller of Cary, NC.; grandchildren, Mark (Kristen) McClusky; Lori (John) Stone; Daniel (Sarah) Knight; Maggie (Josh) Rivard; Rachel Schoen, Suzanne Schoen; Joseph (Chele Williams) Miller; Matthew Miller; Benjamin Miller; and great-grandchildren, Kate and Paige McClusky, Gavin & Olivia Stone, and Adeline Miller. Private services will be held by the family at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. To express condolences to the family, please sign the online guest book.
