John M. Jamieson Jr.

September 18, 1930 — July 3, 2022

John McCarthor Jamieson Jr., 91, of Cape Coral, FL, passed away on July 3, 2022. He was born on September 18, 1930, to John Sr. and Ada Jamieson in Dearth, Pennsylvania.

A true patriot, John honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from September 1948 to September 1951. Following his service, he worked as a Senior Analyst with the NSA for 35 years including 1-year in Vietnam among other foreign locations. After his retirement, he moved to Punta Gorda in 1986 from Glen Burnie, Maryland with his wife Dolores.

John enjoyed baseball, softball, football, golf, bowling, handball, coaching his sons, and traveling with his family. He especially adored time spent with his grandkids.

John will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 70 years, Dolores Jamieson; sons John Jamieson III and Jeff (Tracie) Jamieson; and his grandchildren Josh, Zach, Ethan, Nellie, Nora, and Hallie. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Dave, Peg, Kathleen, June, Mary Louise, and Anna Marie.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home in Punta Gorda. In lieu of flowers please send donations in his honor to the Wounded Warrior Project.
