Joel Allen

January 5, 1956 — February 9, 2022

Joel David Allen, 66, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away on February 9, 2022, after a battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife, Janice (Spies) Allen, and daughter Dana (Jeff) Redmon of Milwaukee, WI. Also, surviving are siblings Dennis (Paula) Allen of St George, Utah; Kim Elliot of Glendale, Ariz; Paula (Mike) McIntyre of Phoenix, Az and Aaron (Francine) Allen of Las Vegas, Nev; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and a loving extended family of in-laws. He was the son of Virginia Marsh and George Allen.

Joel was a dedicated family-man and enjoyed traveling with “his girls”. He and his daughter had a very special bond filled with endless love and support. Dana will always remember how much fun they had and how much she learned from him.

Joel grew up in Phoenix and was a former resident of West Bend and Germantown in WI; Geneseo, Illinois, and Sioux City, Iowa. He has many loving friends throughout the country who will miss his smile.

Joel loved his decades-long career at Cryovac (Sealed Air) where he was a Business Development Manager. He made such great friends and coworkers at Cryovac.

He retired to Punta Gorda to enjoy his fishing and boating passion in 2015.

He was a proud supporter of our troops and country.

A family memorial gathering will be held in Hinton, Iowa in May. In lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to the garysinisefoundation.org/donate.
