Joe Diaz, Sr.

Joe Diaz, Sr., 80, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away December 11, 2016. He was the son of Manuel and Ana Diaz, born August 18, 1936 in Jerez de Lafrontera, Spain. Joe was a scout master for Boy Scouts of America for over 20 years and an Explorer Group Leader. He was of the Catholic Faith. Joe was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling, dancing and gardening. Joe will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Suzanne McKenzie Diaz and her family; daughter, Ann Marie (Bob Wendell) Diaz; son, Joe Diaz, Jr.; grandchildren, Renee, Donavin and Christina and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Matty Van Renzburg Diaz; parents and brother, Juan Diaz. The family will receive friends between 6 to 7pm, Wednesday, December 14, 2016 with a service to celebrate Joe's life at 7pm at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services.
