Jeffeney J. Debarr

Jeffeney J. (Johnson) DeBarr, 67, of Arcadia, Florida, passed away April 17, 2016, after a long, courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born April 4, 1949 in Salem, Ohio, the daughter of the late Richard "Dick" and Helen Oana Johnson. She was a lifelong educator, and began her career as a teacher in 1978. She retired from the Charlotte County Public Schools in 2014. Jeffeney is survived by her husband of 35 years, Thomas "Tom" DeBarr; children, Jamie Massengale (Jamie Lowicz) of Arcadia, Florida, Jesse Lantz of Englewood, Florida, Matthew (Amber) DeBarr of Westerville, Ohio, Michael (Tricia) DeBarr of Salem, Ohio; grandchildren, Zachary Massengale, Zane Massengale, Jacie Massengale, Jadyn Lantz, Grayson DeBarr and Olivia DeBarr; and a sister, Jerrel "Jerry" Johnson of Corpus Christi, Texas. Jeffeney was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved dog, Cooper. Memorial donations made to Scholarship Fund are currently on HOLD until further information is received.
