Jean Muncy

Jean Anderson Muncy, 79, of Port Charlotte passed away May 7, 2009. She was the daughter of Robert and Lula (Higginbotham) Jeffers, born February 15, 1930 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Jean worked for Seal-Test and French-Bauer Dairy Companies for over 20 years and moved from Cincinnati, Ohio to Port Charlotte in 1973. She then worked as a bookkeeper for the Charlotte County School Board for 20 years. Jean loved playing the piano and played for the Church of God for 70 years and she sang in many different groups. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Luanne (Keith) Greenberg of Port Charlotte; son, Rick (Laureen) Anderson of OH; step-sons, Ronald (Beth) Muncy of OH, Mark (Sandy) Muncy of IN; brothers, Dave (Sue) Jeffers of OH, Marvin (Edith) Jeffers of GA and Sherman (Joanne) Jeffers of VA; sisters, Pat (Frank) Lake of Port Charlotte, Phyllis Shaw of IN and Donna (Fred) Retzler of OH; sister in law, Phyllis Jeffers; six grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her first husband Harold and second husband Omar; son, Robert “Bob” Anderson; sister, Wanda Spear and brother, Paul Jeffers; brother in law, Gary Shaw. The family will receive friends 11:00 am to Noon, Monday, May 11, 2009 with a celebration of Jean’s life at noon at Fort Ogden Church of God.
