Jean E. Rigell

Jean Elizabeth Rigell, 77, of Punta Gorda and Melbourne, Florida, passed away Monday, August 4, 2008, at home in Punta Gorda. She was born December 7, 1930, in Nocatee, Florida and grew up in Punta Gorda. Jean was a proud Tarpon and Seminole, graduating from Charlotte High School in 1948 and Florida State University in 1952. Jean served with the American Red Cross for a number of years and then the Department of Defense until her retirement in 2000. She will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews, including her "favorites", Frank, Louie, Jeanne (Radwick), Michael, Joel, Larry, and Shane Desguin. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Rosa Rigell and sister, Peggy Desguin. A celebration of Jean's life will be at 3 p.m., Sunday, August 31, 2008, at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services in Punta Gorda.
