Janet Carpenter Lawson

Janet Carpenter Lawson, 74, of Punta Gorda passed away December 25, 2006. She was born May 17, 1932 in Erwin, TN to Turner and Martha (Griffin) Carpenter. Janet was a retired manager of Miracle Mall in Johnson City, TN before moving to Punta Gorda in 1994. She was a member of the Johnson City Business Women’s Club and of the Presbyterian faith. Janet enjoyed playing softball and other sports in high school. One of her passions was clothes including modeling and working for the Scarlet Macaw in Punta Gorda. She loved spending time with her dog Cory. Janet will be greatly missed by her husband of 55 years, Charles; son, James Grant of Punta Gorda; friend, John Wright; brother Turner Carpenter of Memphis, TN. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Polly Masters, Flossie Ricker, Bonnie Lowry and Lee Jenkins. No services are planned at this time.
