Jan C. Gage

Jan C. Gage, 62, of Punta Gorda passed away January 13, 2017. She was the daughter of Charles and Gloria Griswold, born January 27, 1954 in Williamsport, PA. Jan came to Punta Gorda in 1987 from Kinnelon, NJ, and was a long-time nurse for Dr. Alan Grunning. She loved her Lord, and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Port Charlotte. Jan was a loving wife, mom, and Grammie whose greatest joy was spending time with her family, which included everyone around her. She was known as "mom" to many extended "family" members. Jan was a great friend with a "therapist's" listening ear; she could put a smile on your face no matter how she felt herself. She will be remembered for her love, selflessness, wonderful sense of humor, creative stories, and as a faithful prayer warrior and tireless worker. Jan will be greatly missed by her husband of 26 years, John; daughters, Allison (Shawn) Grueber, Erin (Mike) Naro, and Chelsea Gage; sons, Justin (Rita) Riemer, Jeffery (Deborah) Gage, and Jason (Michelle) Gage; brothers, Todd (Darla) Griswold, and Brad (Valerie) Griswold; and 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. The service in celebration of Jan's life will be at 4:00 pm Sunday, January 15, 2017 at First Baptist Church Port Charlotte.
