James J. Evans, Sr.

James J. Evans, Sr., 55, of Port Charlotte passed away July 7, 2009. He was born August 22, 1953in Orrville, Ohio to Robert and Betty (Stein) Evans. James was the manager of D.J.?s Car Wash in North Port and moved from Orlando to Port Charlotte in 1960. He enjoyed fishing, collecting sports memorabilia and was a life long youth coach. James will be greatly missed by his wife of 31 years, Karen; daughter, Melissa M. Evans of North Port; sons, James J. II (Samantha) Evans of Port Charlotte and Jason M. (Brandie) Evans of North Port; brothers, Denny (Joyce) Evans of Ohio, Joe (Joanne) Evans and Bob (Marty) Evans both of Sebring, FL; grandchild, Ava Marie. A memorial service will be 1:30 pm, Friday, July 10, 2009 at. St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Father Leo Smith officiating.
