Jack L. Dawson

Jack Dawson, age 79, is now present with his Lord and Saviour, on July 7, 2021, after a short illness. Jack was born in Ingram Branch, WV in February 1942, and has resided in Punta Gorda, FL after retirement for the past 23 years. 

Jack was 1 of 10 children born to William Arnold Dawson and Opal Keener. Jack was the Director of Manufacturing for the west coast of Technicote Inc. for 17 years. He served in the Air Force and was a Vietnam vet. He was a member of the NRA, a man of Christian faith, and a pillar to his family. 

Jack is survived by his wife Gerrie Dawson (Hamman), sons William A. Dawson (Trina), Mark Bartow (Carol), daughters Kimberly D. Dawson, Bridget Davidson (Scott), Tracie Wright (David), sisters Margaret Barker and Sharon Dawson. He was a grandfather to 12 grandchildren, great-grandfather to 14, and great-great-grandfather to 2. He is preceded in death by 7 siblings, sons Frederick A. Dawson and Scott D. Bartow. 

Services will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery located at 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241 on July 15, 2021, at 10:30 am.
