Ivan W. Dillingham

Ivan W. Dillingham, 79, of Golden Palms in Harlingen, Texas passed away June 16, 2007. He was born June 28, 1927 in Paris, Michigan to Ivan and Doris Dillingham. Ivan graduated from Big Rapids, Michigan. He served in the US Navy during WWII onboard the Chewaucan in the South Pacific. Ivan worked for GM as a plumbers-pipe fitter until he retired in 1980. He was a member of the UAW Local 1618, Elks Lodge 1889 and lifetime member of VFW. Ivan served as a board member on the Aquarius condo association at South Padre Island. He was active in bowling competitions, raising and breeding Dobermans, past member of the Power Squadron and as an avid boater he navigated the Great Lakes and Gulf of Mexico. Ivan will be remember as an optimistic spirit, giving personality and always willing to help others. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 31 years, Jane of Harlingen, TX; children Sandra (Randy) Schafer of MI, Michelle (Glenn) Halbert of MD, Roxey Lucio of AL, Angela (Jim) Clark of TX and Mark Eisenlohr of TX; siblings, Betty (Ken) Finkbeiner, Don (Carol) Dillingham, Carol Tarrant all of FL and Gordon (Deanna) Dillingham of MI and many grandchildren. Ivan was preceded in death by his first wife Mildred and brother Jim Dillingham. A memorial service will be 10:00 am, Saturday, September 8, 2007 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services Punta Gorda Chapel.
