Henry Elgersma, Sr.

Henry "Hank" Elgersma, 78, of North Fort Myers, FL formerly of Grand Rapids, MI passed away Wed. Nov. 27, 2013. He was born February 16, 1935 in Chicago, IL to Peter and Jeanetta Elgersma. Hank was a Lieutenant for Kent County Sheriff Dept. and retired after over 30 years of service. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church, North Fort Myers, FL. Hank played the organ and was an avid reader and fisherman. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 58 years, Cleoria; children, Henry Jr., (Sue) of Phoenix, AZ, Peter (Sue) of Port Charlotte, FL, Marcy (Bob) of Belmont, MI and David (Tracy) of Midlothian, TX; sister, Arlene (Richard) Forbes of Holly, MI; brother-in-law, Carl (Geri) Brandt; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m., Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Northside Baptist Church, N. Ft. Myers, FL with a service to celebrate Hank's life to follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Port Charlotte, FL.
