Helen J. King

Helen J. King, 85, of Port Charlotte, FL was summoned by God to her new home in Paradise on September 13, 2016. She was born January 18, 1931 in Randolph, ME to Harry and Hazel Jones. She married her high school sweetheart on June 3, 1952 and for 26 years followed him on assignments that included bases in Texas, Florida, the Philippines and Thailand. During her travels, she was active in the local Baptist churches. Sympathetic to the fellowship needs of young airmen and families separated from their homes and loved ones, her door was always open and there was always a place for them. Simply known as "Mom", she wore the title with pride. Helen was a member of First Baptist Church, North Port. Helen will be greatly missed by her husband of 64 years, Milton; 3 children; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and a brother. The family will receive friends 4 to 5pm, Saturday, September 17, 2016 at First Baptist Church of North Port with a service to celebrate Helen's life beginning at 5pm. Burial will be at Sarasota National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of North Port.
