Ervin M. Zavalney

Ervin M. Zavalney, age 84 passed away Monday, December 21, 2015 at Bayfront Health of Punta Gorda, FL. He graduated from the University of North Dakota with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering. Ervin served aboard the U.S.S. Rochester in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1954. He worked as a professional engineer with the US Bureau of Reclamation for 30 years, serving in Weslaco and Amarillo, Texas and also in Washington, DC and Denver, Colorado. Ervin and his wife, Veronica, moved to Punta Gorda from Amarillo, Texas in 2003. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Ervin enjoyed working cross word puzzles, reading and watching the beautiful sunsets over the Peace River. Ervin is survived by his wife of 53 years, Veronica; son, Steven; brother, Bud and sisters; Mavis Case, Marvel Johnson, Janice Carlson and Noreen Boswell.
