Elwood P. Hudson

Elwood P. "Woody" Hudson, 94, of Port Charlotte passed away October 14, 2009. He was the son of Stephen and Ella (Davidson) Hudson, born September 4, 1915 in Harbison, Delaware. Woody served in the Army during WWII in the CBI Theater and was active in the China-Burma-India Veterans Association. He worked as a US Government Consultant for ACMI before retiring in 1980 and moved from Spring Hill, FL to Port Charlotte in 1998. Woody was a member of the Elks Lodge #2606, VFW Post 5690, American Legion Post #103, F&AM Jefferson Masonic Lodge #15 in Lewes, Delaware, the Shriners, Eastern Star and many other masonic groups. He was a Honorary Member of the Mid Atlantic Section of the A.U.A. Woody will be greatly missed by his wife of 10 years, Fran Dwyer-Hudson; daughter, Nancy Ellen Truitt of Lewes, Del; brother, Paul Hudson of Lewes, Del; grandchildren, Michael (Tracy) Wiggins of San Antonio, TX, Michelle Quevedo of St Augustine, FL, Charles Hazel, Jr. of Lewes, Del, Joseph (Marjorie) Hazel of Millsboro, Del and Lynn (Randy) Walsh of Camden, Del; great-grandchildren, Charles Hazel 3rd, Matthew West, Brandon Hazel, Kirin Wiggins, Sydney Wiggins, Gavin Wiggins, C.J. Quevedo, Shane Dolan and Brittany Walsh, great-great-grandchildren, Kyle, Katherine and Ashley Dolan, Morgan and Lincoln Hazel. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Louisa Wiggins Smith. A celebration of Woody�s life will be at 11:00 am, Monday, October 19, 2009 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. Memorial donations may be made in his name to The Shriners of N.A.
