Eberhard A. Timme

Eberhard Adalbert Timme, 82, of Punta Gorda, FL and Cincinnati, Ohio passed away Friday, April 24, 2009 at Charlotte Regional Medical Center. He was the son of Sigmar and Charlotte (Grasnick) Timme, born November 14, 1926 in Zolow, Germany, which became a Polish territory after WWII. Eberhard served in the German Army Tank Division during WWII and was captured by the Russian Army while they were advancing toward the city of Berlin. He spent 5 years as a POW in Russia and was released in 1950 then returned to Berlin where his parents had fled after their property had been confiscated by the Russian Army. He worked as a Sales Engineer for A.R. Industries over 20 plus years. He was a member of St. Paul UCC in Cincinnati/College Hill, Ohio, Congregational UCC of Punta Gorda and a member of Cincinnati Hanselmann Lodge #0208 and the Elks Lodge #2606 in Punta Gorda. Eberhard will be greatly missed by his wife of 53 years, Anne Marie (nee Stein); daughter, Ina (Jeff) Ames of Westlake Village, CA; son, Christoph H. Timme and his fianc Lorraine Lozano of Palmetto, FL; sisters-in-law, Inge (Walter) Krieglstein of Cincinnati, Ohio and Elke (Joerg) Scherf of Berlin, Germany; nieces and nephews, along with long time friend, Hildegard Stadler and her family. He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Horst. A visitation will be 3:00 to 4:00 pm, Friday, May 1, 2009 followed by a celebration of Eberhard's life to follow at 4:00 pm, at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services.
