Douglas Mcmurtrie

Douglas McMurtrie, 77 of Port Charlotte passed away August 10, 2010. He was the son of Duncan and Wilhelmina (Currie) McMurtrie, born April 24, 1933 in Detroit, MI. Douglas served in the US Navy and was a railroad conductor for DT & I Railroad before retiring. He moved to this area from Kentucky in 2000 and was of the Methodist faith. Douglas enjoyed going boating. Douglas will be greatly missed by his wife of 31 years, Linda; daughters, Renea Revard of Punta Gorda, Doreen Scoglietti of Dearborn Heights, MI and Nicole Souder of Punta Gorda; brother, Bruce McMurtrie of Wayne, MI; sister, Doreen Kiehl of Kokomo, IN; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Kim McMurtrie. A memorial service will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Church of the Nazarene-Punta Gorda.
